Car rental insurance, excess and Zero Excess
General comprehensive insurance is included in every rental price. Below you find what the excess means, how it differs from a deposit, and the fees of every car category.
What the excess means
The excess is the most you pay towards covered damage under the insurance included in the price. Each category has its own excess and conditions.
Deposit and excess are not the same
A deposit is money held at pickup. Eligible categories need no deposit and no bank card. The excess only applies if covered damage happens.
Fees by category and rental length
Each table comes from the same insurance data as the category pages. Intermediate rows are partial excess reductions; the €0 row is Zero Excess.
Economy Hybrid Car Rental

€5/day applies to Economy, Economy Hybrid and Family Plus rentals of 21 days or more.

Optional Zero Excess
Zero Excess is optional for an extra fee; for covered damage the excess is zero. Premium has an individually quoted fee. Cabriolet and 4x4 have no Zero Excess.

Eligible cars may be driven to North Cyprus, but our insurance packages and Zero Excess do not cover the rental car there. Separate local third-party insurance is required and is arranged and paid for by the customer. Cabriolet and 4x4 may not be used in North Cyprus.
